In my Type Dialogues course, my class was assigned with creating our own alphabet and utilizing it to create a mock up New York Times cover. Although I accomplished this in Photoshop, I wanted it to feel like it was images cut out with an x-acto knife and glued onto scrap paper. I created this at the very beginning of quarantine, and it was very difficult at times for my life around me to feel stable. I wanted my cover to be as if the New York Times created an issue based on finding comfort in the familiar things within your own space. With this in mind, I took pictures of random things in my room and in my backyard that give me comfort and I made wonky letters to use them to spell out my cover.
