I was chosen by Webster University's Fine Art Faculty to represent them in Art St. Louis' Varsity Art XXVI, which is an annual art exhibit that showcases undergraduate and graduate art programs around the St. Louis area. I created this painting around New Years in 2022, and it is one of my favorite pieces to date and it was displayed from March 4, 2022 through March 31, 2022. Here is my artist's statement:
“From the beginning to the end of creating this painting, it transformed from a fixation of body image into a reflection of the present time and the anxieties of the unforeseeable future. There is something fascinating about worrying about what is coming next and knowing that waiting is all that can be done. I created this in a place that comes from an environment of comfort and confidence that gradually becomes nerve-racking and confusing.”
