For my Text and Image course, I was assigned with creating a zine with some sort of research element to supplement the content of our own. There is an Instagram account, We’re Not Really Strangers, that I always look for uplifting quotes, and I decided that this would be a fun opportunity to play around with some of my favorite phrases of theirs. I chose to illustrate this book in my sketchbook with my favorite brush pens so it could feel more free and self reflecting. I uploaded and edited everything in Photoshop and then compiled it in InDesign. For the cover, I put together shapes and words I drew randomly with the same brush pen to make this feel like a small journal or sketchbook. The illustrations I drew referenced past pictures of my own.
