My final assignment for my Intermediate Drawing class was to illustrate the idea behind an archetype of our choice. This illustration is based off of the temperance tarot card, which represents patience in time and being accepting of your surroundings. With everything going on during these odd times, I was motivated to create a drawing that would capture content in the present time and enjoying the moment, which is something I tend to struggle with often. I drew this out in Photoshop with the intent of it looking like a traditional drawing; I used my own reflections and other sources as drawing references. I decided to lay out the illustration and text to give off the same layout as a book illustration or the format of a postcard design. Although the text serves as a caption in a way, I wanted it to also reflect being calm and reflective with the use of a simple, rounded, serif font.
